James Lee Burke- Light of the World

This is my ninth interview with James Lee Burke. What an honor that is. I firmly believe that James Lee Burke is writing at the peak of his creative powers in his new novel, Light of the World (Kindle), published by Simon & Schuster. (NO spoilers in our interview.)

During this 45 minute interview Mr. Burke discusses the relationship between Dave Robicheaux and Clete Purcell; and, just as importantly, the relationship between their daughters, Alafair and Gretchen Horowitz. Gretchen, Clete's daughter, deepens the bond between all of the characters in the Robicheaux cast-of-characters.

Light of the World is a remarkable novel. I've said it before, and I'll say it again- James Lee Burke is creating a classic body of work. He is writing for the ages. This novel puts him the league with Dostoevsky. He is that good.

This novel deserves the National Book Award, and James Lee Burke deserves the Pulitzer Prize.

So sit back, relax, get a cup of coffee and listen to our country's finest author discuss his work. When you're done, click on the interviews below and listen to the others. Let's celebrate this author and his books. You will not be disappointed!  (Link takes awhile to load.)

Kacey
