This was Michael Connelly's fifth appearance on the show. Mr. Connelly and I discussed THE OVERLOOK (Kindle Edition) published by Little, Brown. THE OVERLOOK began as a serial installment in The New York Times Sunday Magazine in 2006. Mr. Connelly discusses the challenges of having to meet a 2,500-3,000 word count each week.
When the sixteen week period was finished, Mr. Connelly took the story and fleshed it out into a new Harry Bosch novel. THE OVERLOOK is a page turner and is difficult to put down. Harry Bosch has a new partner in THE OVERLOOK. I continue to be amazed at the body of work Mr. Connelly is creating.
We also discuss two of Mr. Connelly’s Hollywood projects. The first is the film version of LINCOLN LAWYER (Kindle Edition), the bestseller novel featuring Mickey Haller[this interview took place four years prior to the release of the film]. The second is a screenplay that he is writing with Terrill Lee Lankford based on the 1980’s TV show THE EQUALIZERS. Enjoy!
Peace,
Kacey
